Dear Mr. Waddell:
Just to let you know, the
training you provided on the Sacco Triage Method was well received and
virtually all of the feedback was positive.
Without a doubt the most common remark I have heard is “this sure takes
all of the guesswork out of triage”.
The EMS crews, hospital ER staff, military first responders,
firefighters, nurses and physicians are excited about having this common ground
that will get the right patient to the right facility in the right order.
We appreciate your and Mick
Navin’s return to further educate those members not available for the first
courses and to install the software in our communications center. Mr. McCord’s offer to conduct simulations through
our communications center, based on our local scenarios, will enhance the
familiarity of the system without having to stage repeated mock exercises. We are currently collecting the RPM data and
the Sacco score on every trauma patient via our electronic patient
reporting. From the field this score is
being radioed into the ER’s along with other trauma alert criteria. This daily field practice will pay off in
the event we have a large scale disaster.
We appreciate the opportunity
to participate in the development of the system as it grows to meet the
specific demands of field utilization.
Your willingness to customize the system for our needs without
compromising the Sacco Triage Method benefits us and potentially all future
users. We look forward to your next
visit and appreciate the assistance you continue to lend.
Sincerely,
Al Herndon, Chief
Okaloosa County EMS
